LINDA'S JOURNAL NOTES
October 16, 2007
Well, there is renovation madness all around here and it’s a big distraction, but I’m having fun being in the centre of the mayhem.
Andy and I decided to finish this house we started building 14 years ago and it will all be worth it when we look back (that’s what I tell myself) Now that
people who actually know what they are doing are working on it, I think it’s all going to come together brilliantly. Is there a song in this?
And my talented and brilliant friend Karl is patiently taking me through this re-vamp of my website. I’m loving the colour; orange is the colour of action
from the root. Well there is lots of action going on around here let me tell you.
And in my head is the new tune about the night I spent in John Lennon’s bed. (My visit to Mendips was not just your ordinary museum visit, and the night
I spent was strangely comforting and familiar.) Though I have to wait for the buzzing of cutsaws to ebb from my brain to hear it better.
The new CDs are both proceeding at a snails pace, and that’s the way it is right now. It’s actually nice to just be thinking about other things than the
music once in a while. And the songs, gratefully, are endlessly patient. Much more than I. I (little ego centric bird brain I can be most times) ache to
be finished. Even though I know there is no such thing. I am producing the acoustic CD on my own, so it’s a long learning process, but the newest challenge
I am enjoying in this musical journey I am on. As far as the new band album goes, well, I just have to get the boys together in one place at one time.
There are lots of great musicians around here, a couple of them are working on my renovation, and, as much fun as it is to go to Europe to play solo, it is
dawning on me that it would be great fun to gig regularly with a band in my own back yard.
